The Annual Niel Gow Festival was established in 2004 to celebrate the life and music of Perthshire’s fiddle legend. It is envisaged that through time the festival and other activities will gather enough funds to erect a fitting memorial to Niel Gow in Dunkeld & Birnam.
The memorial fund has been growing year by year, the result of Festival surplus income, donations and income from sales of the recording “Niel Gow’s Fiddle” (Pete Clark & Muriel Johnstone, INVER229). The goal is to have a life-size bronze of Niel Gow installed in Dunkeld by 2020. The renowned Scottish sculptor David Annand has been commissioned to undertake the work.
The web site also has a facility for making donations to the memorial fund via PayPal.
